Why upsides?
Because there are so many great things in my life, and I wanted to write about them.
There are downsides too, but they’re few and far between.
I also have aspirations to write and keeping a blog seems to be a good way to get into the habit of writing regularly.
Things I’ll be blogging about:
- being a mum:
which has changed me both completely and not at all. In many ways, it feels like the most natural thing in the world to be at home with this little person, having such fun together. It’s lucky that my husband is fine with being the one who goes out to work, because I would really miss all the stuff that Henry and I do.
- weaning:
Henry is a BLW baby. No purees or mush for us, oh no! It’s real food and self-feeding all the way!
- walking: we have a PJRT called Isabel who needs a lot of exercise, so we get to spend around three hours every day out in the fresh air, traipsing around through fields throwing balls and sticks. It’s great! We’re the only ones to be seen pushing a pram (a super cool off-road pram, I might add) through the muddiest of fields on the rainiest of days.
- bilingualism:
Henry will be brought up speaking both English and German (we live in Germany) so it will be interesting to see how we get along with this. It’s not really an issue as yet, as he’s not beyond babbling!
There’ll be lots of other stuff too that I’m interested in, like:
baking bread, bumblebees, chatting to my sister, contemporary fiction, cooking, countryside, delving into the classics, dogs, dreamweaver, eating good food, english humour, espresso, fields, giraffes, growing herbs, hens, playing with henry, pottering around, pubs, reading blogs, red shoes, running a bookclub, shopping, singing loudly in the car, sleeping, sunflowers, surfing the net, taking photos, talking with friends, walking isabel, watching films, wine…
